Built to add detail to calorie planning.

CalQuant started as an expansion of a tool I built for myself. Even in its current form, I think the tools offer useful insight into energy needs. Over time, I want to keep expanding CalQuant with new tools and capabilities.

Most calorie calculators force too much into one rough multiplier.

Broad PAL-style multipliers are convenient, but they flatten too much activity detail into a single assumption. That trade-off gives users less control over the estimate and can lead to results that feel neither personal nor especially accurate.

CalQuant takes a more granular approach. You can keep it light for a fast answer, or break down your daily activity in more detail when you want the estimate to reflect how your day is actually structured.

A more inspectable model.

The results dashboard brings your calculated insights together so you can explore your energy state, body metrics, and calorie targets side by side.

All of our methods are available for you to inspect, so you can see where the estimates come from and understand the assumptions behind them.

Only an estimate.

CalQuant is built for self-tracking and practical decision-making, and it is not medical advice. Although the tools are based on established methods, we can't promise perfect accuracy. Use them as a starting point, then check back over time to see how your progress compares.
